How we price prep work

We price per-unit for standard prep and per-box for receiving. Specialty supplies, oversized handling, rush prep, returns and removals, problem-package research, storage beyond the included staging window, and replacement cartons are itemized on the invoice when they occur. Pricing on this page is "starting from" — the exact rate that applies to your shipment depends on volume, prep complexity, and any special-handling flags called out at intake.

Every per-unit rate above is a "starting at" headline for the launch. Specialty materials — specific polybag sizes outside our standard inventory, branded inserts, replacement cartons — are passed through at cost plus a small handling line. Final invoice depends on actual received inventory, prep needs, materials, storage, and outbound shipping.

What changes the final invoice

Three things move the number between what looks like a per-unit rate and what shows up on the final invoice:

  • Actual received inventory. If the shipment plan says 400 units and 397 land, you're invoiced for 397.
  • Prep complexity per SKU. A SKU that needs polybag + bundle + FNSKU label is three line items, not one.
  • Materials and exceptions. Replacement cartons when an inbound is destroyed in transit, specialty bags for oversized SKUs, problem-package research when an inbound shipment lacks a matching shipment plan — each itemized on the invoice as it occurs.

Storage and oversize note

The first seven days of staging after prep is complete are included. Storage beyond that is billed at $0.75 per cubic foot per month, prorated. For oversized, overweight, fragile, high-value, pallet, or freight inventory, we quote in advance — there's no single number that fairly covers the range.

First-Shipment Pilot

A first shipment to a new prep service is a real decision. Our pilot framing is a single shipment under the standard rates, documented end-to-end with photo-backed receiving, so you can see exactly how we operate before you commit volume. After the pilot, volume tiers on poly bagging, bundling, and any standing services get locked in.
