FBA Shipment Prep Service
Outbound shipment organization, carton-level handling, box counts, shipment labels, and documentation — assembled at our Great Falls, Montana location and prepared for delivery to Amazon fulfillment centers.
High Plains Prep & Pack offers an FBA shipment prep service for Amazon sellers whose prepared inventory still needs to be organized into outbound cartons, labeled, counted, and reconciled against their Amazon shipment plan before it leaves for the fulfillment center. We are the layer between "the units are ready" and "the carrier picks up." Done well, this phase decides whether your inbound is smooth or noisy on Amazon’s receiving dock.

Where shipment prep sits in the workflow
Prep and bagging and bundling work at the unit level. Shipment prep works at the carton level. Once units are labeled, bagged, bundled, or kitted to spec, shipment prep takes over: deciding what goes in which carton, applying outbound box labels, balancing carton weight and dimension, reconciling counts against the shipment plan, and handing off cleanly to your chosen carrier.
For sellers who already do their own per-unit prep elsewhere, we can run shipment prep as a standalone service — receive your already-prepped inventory, organize, label cartons, and ship. For sellers who use us for the full workflow, shipment prep is the last stage before outbound handoff.
What we handle
Outbound shipment organization
Group units by SKU and shipment plan, stage them by destination FBA fulfillment center, and prepare for cartonization.
Carton-level handling
Right-size cartons to the SKU mix; protect units in transit; respect Amazon’s carton weight and dimension limits.
Box counts
Units-per-carton counted against your shipment plan with a written record per box. Discrepancies flagged before sealing.
Shipment labels
Outbound carrier labels and Amazon shipment / box ID labels applied per your shipment plan, with placement that won’t catch on belts.
FNSKU labeling
If units arrive unlabeled, apply your provided FNSKU labels accurately before cartonization.
Poly bagging or bundling
Last-mile bagging or bundling where the shipment plan calls for it but units arrive without it.
Quality checks
Visible damage, count verification, label readability, and packaging condition checked before cartons close.
Problem package handling
Unmatched inbound packages, missing components, or unresolved shipment-plan mismatches held and escalated rather than buried.
Shipment plan reconciliation
Final count and SKU breakdown reconciled against your Amazon shipment plan before outbound. Exceptions documented.
Carrier handoff
Prepare cartons for pickup or drop-off with your chosen carrier; document outbound tracking on the shipment record.
How a shipment prep job runs
- You submit an intake request describing the shipment, expected volume, current state of the units (already prepped vs. needs prep first), and timing.
- We confirm acceptance after a capacity review.
- You send the Amazon shipment plan, packing list, FNSKU file if relevant, box labels and shipment labels, and inbound tracking numbers.
- Inventory arrives. We photograph inbound condition and count by SKU.
- If any per-unit prep is still required (labeling, bagging, bundling, quality checks), we complete it first.
- We organize, cartonize, balance weight and dimension, apply outbound box labels and shipment labels, and write the per-carton count record.
- We reconcile the final shipment against your Amazon shipment plan; exceptions are documented with photos.
- We hand off cartons to your chosen carrier and record outbound tracking on the shipment.
- You receive a completion update with carton counts, exceptions, photos, and outbound tracking.
When sellers outsource shipment prep
Shipment prep is the last few steps before inventory leaves the door: cartonization, outbound box labels, reconciliation against the shipment plan, and handoff to the carrier. Sellers who do their own labeling and quality checks often outsource only this layer because it is the most time-consuming step on the smallest margin per unit.
Other sellers outsource shipment prep because the cartonization decisions are easier to make on a floor than from a spreadsheet. Box weight limits, evenly distributing SKUs across cartons, applying the correct box ID labels, and matching cartons back to the Amazon shipment plan all benefit from someone whose job is to look at boxes that day.
What to send us
If you are sending us shipment-prep-only work, here is what we need:
- Amazon shipment plan with the cartonization, weights, and dims target if you have one.
- Outbound box labels (or written authorization for us to print from the shipment plan).
- Packing list reconciling SKUs to received cartons.
- Any per-SKU placement notes (heavy on the bottom, fragile-up, etc.).
- Inbound tracking numbers and carrier handoff details.
How shipment prep fits with our other services
Shipment prep is the natural follow-on to FNSKU labeling and quality checks. If you only need outbound forwarding without re-prepping, see carton forwarding. And if you have not yet routed inbound to us, start with FBA receiving service.
Intake required before shipping inventory. Submitting an intake request does not guarantee acceptance. We review capacity, item type, timeline, and required prep before approving shipments. Do not ship inventory until High Plains confirms acceptance and provides next-step instructions.
What we do not promise
Careful shipment prep gives a shipment its best chance at smooth Amazon receiving, but the final acceptance decision is Amazon’s. We do not guarantee Amazon acceptance, Amazon receiving speed, inbound defect outcomes, reimbursement eligibility, defect prevention at the fulfillment center, carrier transit times, or any specific account-health effect. We do not create Amazon shipment plans, choose your destination fulfillment centers, design your inbound strategy, or decide carrier service levels — those are seller decisions. The seller remains responsible for shipment plan accuracy, product eligibility, listing accuracy, account health, and Amazon compliance under their seller agreement. We control the workmanship on our floor — cartonization, counts, label placement, reconciliation, and documentation — and hold ourselves to a high bar on exactly that.
