Amazon FBA Prep FAQ

Common questions about Amazon FBA prep services, what we handle, what to send, how the 72-hour prep target works, and what we don't promise.

What is an FBA prep center?

An FBA prep center is a third-party warehouse that receives a seller's inbound inventory, prepares it according to Amazon's requirements and the seller's instructions, and ships it on to Amazon fulfillment centers. Typical work includes receiving and inspection, FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, bundling and kitting, quality checks, and outbound shipment preparation.

What services does High Plains Prep & Pack offer?

Receiving and intake with photo-backed audits, FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, bundling and kitting, quality checks, shipment prep and cartonization, and carton forwarding to Amazon fulfillment centers. Full service list lives on our service pages.

Do you help new Amazon sellers?

Yes. Our First-Shipment Pilot framing is built around a single shipment under standard rates, documented end-to-end. New sellers get the same photo-backed receiving and prep documentation as established ones.

What should sellers send before shipping inventory?

Amazon shipment plan or shipment ID, FNSKU label file, packing list with SKUs and unit counts, per-SKU prep instructions, inbound tracking numbers, and any flags for fragile, oversized, high-value, or special-handling items. Anything unusual goes in writing in advance.

Do you handle FNSKU labeling?

Yes. We apply seller-provided FNSKU labels against the shipment plan in scannable orientation. We perform barcode-conflict checks where retail UPCs may interfere. We do not invent FNSKUs or relabel without authorization.

Do you handle poly bagging?

Yes. Suffocation-warning poly bagging where required, sized to your product mix. We carry standard sizes; unusual sizes or large quantities need lead time or seller-provided bags.

Do you handle bundles and kits?

Yes. Multi-unit bundles (multiple units of the same SKU as one ASIN) and kits (multiple different components packaged as one sellable unit under one FNSKU) are both supported. Spec sheets are required.

Do you provide photo-backed receiving?

Yes. Every inbound shipment is photographed at arrival — exterior labels, carton condition, and visible contents. Damage and discrepancies are flagged in writing at intake, not buried in a status email weeks later.

How does the 72-hour prep target work?

The 72-hour target starts when we have all prep-ready materials in hand: inventory received, FNSKU labels, shipment plan, and per-SKU prep instructions. If any of those are missing or arrive late, the clock starts when the last piece lands. Specialty handling, supply shortages, or carrier delays can extend the target — we communicate when that happens.

Are you affiliated with Amazon?

No. High Plains Prep & Pack is an independent prep service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Amazon.com, Inc. We are listed on the Amazon Service Provider Network under FBA Prep & Packaging.

What do you not promise?

We do not promise Amazon acceptance, Amazon receiving speed, reimbursement eligibility, defect prevention at the fulfillment center, or any specific account-health effect. We do not promise any sales-tax outcome — not tax advice. The seller remains responsible for product eligibility, listing accuracy, and Amazon compliance under their seller agreement.

Where are you located?

700 1st Ave S, Great Falls, MT 59401. Reach us at info@highplainsprep.com or 406-454-3333. Montana receiving may help sellers reduce sales tax at checkout when retailers calculate tax based on the ship-to address — outcomes depend on retailer, marketplace, supplier policy, and applicable law. Not tax advice.
